The bill passed one house, then it goes to the republican other, and then to the republican governor.

Yay!1

TL-DR:
Kansas may pass a bill that allows anti-gay segregation against couples if the person doing the segregation "has religious beliefs against gay marriage". This law also says that the gay couple cannot sue the state/people segregating, and would be forced to pay the person's attorney fees.

The bill is also loose, saying that "anything like such" about civil unions, marriage, meaning that it can also segregate individuals if they are "thinking" about marrying.

One of the supporters of the bill claims they are "protecting the rights of the minority: Christians" and that "if you believe that straight couples are wrong, then you can use this bill against them".

ALSO: Government workers can refuse their service, meaning public school teachers can refuse to teach children whom are in relationships, government-owned hospital workers can refuse to tend to patients wounds if they are a couple, and basically any government worker can segregate (police officers can arrest for no reason, or police officers can deny helping you.)

"protecting the rights of the minority: Christians"
Where in the US are Christians a minority?

Where in the US are Christians a minority?
That is what is forgeted up.

this sounds like something that would be unconstitutional but idk what all is included in the constitution???
seriously tho what the hell, I'd expect this out of somewhere like alabama or utah, but tornado town??

This will cause a civil unrest.

what are they doing to protect actual minorities

Where in the US are Christians a minority?
The internet? This place?.

This will cause a civil unrest.
Doubt it. These laws are just made to appeal to a certain group without actually having them enforced.

Well apparently since being gay can't be really proved in the moment, someone can assume that you are gay and kick you out.

Maybe they can use the NSA mass data collecting to prove your loveuality.

this is why all states are technically sovereign in their legislation. if votes make this popular enough, or people vote in politicians that do. its all legit and ok.

if many people hate it, then they can vote them out, or move to another state.
this creates competition in states, as being liberal or conservative in certain ways also = income/loss of income depending on trends and society.

we WANT states to compete. to see who has a stronger economy. if this legislation is truly bad, then it will lose them money, or constituents, or population needed to push voting power by county.
then they will change the law to fit the need.

you progressives just think its great and easy to just change everything to your way of thought. as if the world really was that simple. even if all politicians there want gay rights, thats not always feasible to rush into legislation like that.
you gotta get your head our of your equality-needing ass and see how things actually work.
