FR requests an alliance with the Ursus Empire.

Did we ever resolve this? Or were these antagonists shrugged off as pirates somewhere along the line?
Nope. Nobody chose to research it further.

TC engineers create a portal and place it, spanning one Soverinian planet to another in internal areas (as radical atmospheric changes could be destructive.)

The Ursus Empire accepts your request for an alliance.

Well it seems like a threat, so the UE is going to begin investigations of the colony. We dispatch one Eradicator-class starship and two Hunter-class starships to the world that was attacked to search for any clues as to who the attacker was.

The UE finds fuel droppings. They appear to be unworldly, and seem to be a substance no other species can use in their fuel. Perhaps they are so far ahead technologically, they found a way to change it?

This sounds very dangerous.

The Ursus Empire collects as much of the fuel droppings as possible and ships it back to the stronghold world Tyrellis. There we begin to research its composition and attempt to reverse engineer the fuel.

If the creators of that fuel ever show up again, hopefully we'll be evenly matched.

Titan Corporation wishes to purchase some of this mystery fuel for research.

Titan Corporation recalls all portal gates, and installs paradox prevention devices.

Tatan Corp makes an infitite energy hydroelectric plant with portals.

The Ursus Empire is pleased by the notion of a trade deal. We are willing to give you 40% of our mystery fuel reserves if the Promethean Security Systems develops a new form of weaponry for us.

If you accept, we'd like the weaponry to be unique--one that no one in the star cluster currently has. We would also like for you to keep it exclusive to us, meaning don't distribute the new form of weaponry to any other political power. Deal?

If you don't like the offer, please give a counter-offer.

FR requests that the Ursus Empire does not give the fuel to Titan Corp.
Why give it to a corporation that will most likely give it to possible enemies? Be the only country with it.

FR sends scientists to the Ursian stronghold planet to assist in reverse engineering the fuel.

For starters, there's the unknown entity that created the fuel. The Ursus Empire is only giving 40% of it away, and whoever that 40% is distributed amongst will suddenly be more capable of defending themselves using this alternate fuel and any knowledge gained from studying it.

Plus, the UE will still have 60% left over. All ours. I think it's safe to say we'll be in good shape compared to the rest of the star cluster.

The Ursus Empire appreciates the help and will share any information we unlock the the Fyrenise Republic.

With trade going to and from the Ursus empire, SE asks that they form an alliance.
