Author Topic: Why do people use anti-perspirant?  (Read 4028 times)

so does the sun
We have to destroy the sun before it destroys us!

its not the fact that is stops you from sweating, its the chemicals themselves that close up your pores
I read that it causes cancer or something
so does the sun

Because sweating is gross. Nobody wants to see your pit stains.

This all the way

I'm sure that if alum was that bad for you the FDA would have made sure you can't buy it.

Alum has been used for centuries for more than just anti-perspirant, you can even use it to pickle vegetables.

OR smell them

I've never used anti-perspirant in my life, and I never put deodorant on. When I do a lot of exercise, I have the tendency to sweat very little. If I were to use a deodorant though, then I would just put a dab of eucalyptus essential oil under my armpits and rub it. Deodorants are just chemicals.

Deodorants are just chemicals.
So are human beings, wowee! Why people say such dumb stuff like this, lol?

The solution?

Be like that guy.

aluminum compounds > eucalyptus

Deodorant I can understand, but literally making your body stop sweating is unintelligent. Your body uses sweat to cool down, and people are just stopping that from happening.
I wasn't aware that the only sweat glands in human anatomy are located under your arms.

You probably smell terrible and people avoid you. I'm sure you'll say that you don't smell bad, but the fact of the matter is that most people cannot smell their own BO. The reason people use antiperspirants is because they actually address the cause of odor by stopping perspiration in your underarms and killing bacteria. Mixing essential oil under your armpits serves to do nothing but provide an excellent substrate for bacteria to grow in (rich with lipids and sugars and all that stuff bacteria loves) and give you the unmistakable odor of "hippie stank".

also the fact that deodorant is made of chemicals says nothing about how well it works or whether it's safe or not.
