but that's what they are? and where did you hear that they "don't like" that term? i don't think they even give two stuffs.

This is one where it says that Autechre dislikes the term
I also read one interview with Boards of Canada stating that they're just a music band, that is all.

People dislike the term 'Intelligent Dance Music' because it implies that everyone else's taste in music is not intelligent. Aphex Twin would rather call it 'braindance'.
