Author Topic: Blockland for mobile devices?  (Read 1845 times)

With the iPad or any device as it is, it won't happen.  The chances of anyone doing are slim to none let alone getting their hands on a copy of an ARM processor enabled edition of Windows.

Edit:  Son of a bitch ignore why I quoted myself I swore I hit modify, oh well.

i do use my computer, i just wanted to know if it was possible

if you look this up (not trying to dismiss anything, please don't ban me badspot) you would find a better answer than from the forums.

just check the system requirements too, that helps

Ah hem
Yes if you have a keyboard that attaches to the tablet or splashtop
I have an Acer w3 and I can run blockland on it
Edit: are you guys even reading op? He's asking if it can run with a modified one with windows on it

technically with the right tools you can "play" blockland on a phone. i say it like that because one, gameplay would suck ass and two, your phone wouldn't actually be running blockland. it wouldnt be worth it but yknow, at least you'd be able to say you did it :p

EDIT: ive never had an os like windows installed on any mobile device but yes i guess if it was modified to be playable then it would be

we have no mobile devices that are able to fully drive XP with performance. + there are no drivers.

blockland would probably give you an error because it cant detect a GPU or something.

On my w3 I can run with minimum shaders and an average fps of 35-40

are you running xp?

Technically, if you were to hack one of these devices to run Windows, yes Blockland would run. Would it be fun to play? No. Would it be frustrating to play? Very. Would it be worth your time? Probably not.

You wouldn't be able to. The problem is that:

1. You would need to get windows on your device. Most devices are locked down from the bios and difficult to load a different OS onto

2. The power of the device would be limited; windows is very resource heavy and would not run well on a low-clocked device

3. Most importantly, Mobile devices traditionally run on ARM processors. While their is a windows version for ARM, unfortunately, all individual applications would have to be written specifically to run on ARM processors, rather than the standard of x86 for Desktop/Laptop computers.

That said, if we're talking like a surface pro, It might have an x86 chip inside (? not sure?) and as a result it would be able to play blockland. How well is another story.

this thread made me think of when that one guy made blockland on the PSP, anyone remember that?

that never happened

sorta. just out of curiosity, link to thread?

i used to use an app on my phone called thinstuff that let me access my desktop remotely. i could play games like bl and tf2 using it, but the frame-rate was with no exaggeration, a slide show.

So it IS possible, just not ideal and includes a lot of hassle?
