I haven't seen thunder and lightning in like 8-9 months.

Iunno, I was hoping it'd be as crazy as the one you were describing. It was around Spring Break where a bolt of lightning astray would shake the house to and fro and it would occasionally hail. The drops would slam against the window and I'd say it's the most opportune time to pull out the fireplace soundtrack and read a book. I used to have a recording of that whilst I played a song and it was soothing until I deleted it :y
