Turn player into bot?

I was trying to do this last year by having random movements happen, but it didnt work.
What I would like to do is turn the player into a bot.
Kind of like copymod but you are the bot.

Thing is, I dont know where to start, so if someone could point me to where I should start that would be helpful.

I have tried controlling the bot, and the bot was the player, it was nuts. It doesn't seem to work well correctly.
