Author Topic: Dear Nadia  (Read 4352 times)

I know we met at the hospital and didn't have much time to talk, but if you're released like you thought you'd be by now and you can come on the forums and see this, that'd be wonderful.

Something told me you'd be on here, and I just want to say a couple of things, and shoot me a PM so we can talk more, because I didn't quite catch your username!

1. Your portal turret/space core impressions were loving spot on. seriously.

2. I felt really bad for you when you got the booty juice. seriously, that must suck.

3. Kaleb cheated at monopoly. confirmed.

That's all I've got for now, you should be able to figure out who I am from this, so send me a PM if you've been released!

Are you going insane, or did you mistake the Blockland Forums as Facebook?

I just got out of the psychiatric hospital, and this was the only place I knew of to find her. calm yourself.

I don't know her name, as I said, I didn't quite catch it (staff had a rule against sharing any sort of contact info) and I made this thread hoping she'd be able to see it and PM me

depressed people or those with mental conditions deserve friends too

This is both cute and a little unsettling

not everybody goes to the psych ward for trying to stab their neighbor and light themselves on fire. People in the psych ward were a lot nicer to me than you'd think. It's a place where people actually give a stuff because there were only 16 beds there. Those people become your family for the time you're in there. The staff couldn't give less of a forget but when someone cares as much as the patients did, you'd want to stay in touch too. I don't really expect you to understand, because most people haven't been there.

The problem isn't you, it's the stigma you're propagating about the state of being "mentally ill." Yes, there was a patient in the ward who would do nothing but laugh and make animal noises. But that was one out of sixteen people. The rest of the people in the ward were some of the most real, caring, and kind people I've ever met. I'll admit that I'm mentally ill, I have nothing against the label. But I have a problem when people think it means that you stuff yourself and rock in the corner. That's a small percentage of a large number of people.

Picture it this way. Around one in four people have OCD. OCD is a disorder categorized by compulsive behaviors and obsessive patterns. If people with OCD are considered mentally ill, there's a 25% chance you've got it, increased if it's in your family. But that's COMPLETELY OKAY. There's nothing wrong with having a broken leg, so I don't see why a chemical imbalance is all that much worse.
