Gif profile picture HELP!

I want to set my profile picture as a Gif. I read other topics, I resized it, I cropped it and it looks EPIC! But I try to upload it and I get this stuff:

It only weights 42KBs. What is the max weight?

This should be a simple fix but so far, almost 10 hours passed and not a single answer.

Nothing can be done, it's SMF flipping the forget out. It's been happening with other people too, and it's mostly because the people who made SMF have no actual idea what they're doing.

So the .gif needs to be 75x75 or less in size and SMF won't accept images made from certain popular image editors. Try saving your image from an editor like GIMP or something and re-uploading it.

Try to compress the image even smaller, like under 5KB.  That's usually what it takes to get images to work.
