When you grow up being told what is right and wrong you tend to cling to those things. Also people don't like to be proved wrong, so they are going to defend what they believe in. Sure it might seem silly or stupid, but that is all they know.

I believe we can live a world the religious and none religious can co-exist, but first people need to learn how to respect other believes for that is a possibility.
