Are people too dependent on technology now a days?

Wondering your opinions. Had to write an essay in English class today and was thinking how easy this was. I thought that even though we are very dependent on technology, it had some huge advances like increase in communications and making our every day lives better.

Technology has rooted itself in society to where it has to be necessary now days. It grows so fast. With the increase of tech i also think i've seen an increase of dependence on it in the younger population. Back then there was common knowledge the average person had that they don't seem to have now. I think we are extremely reliant on it, but only due to the lack of discipline.

technically a knife is technology since it's material adapted for a purpose, so you'd have to build one from scratch.

Technology is really helpful, I agree, but I hate when people use their damn phones/ipads/computers every second of every day

How costly would it be to turn me into a cuadruped animal? I'd live in the wild for the rest of my life.

The only thing stopping me from that is not having a way to kill prey naturally. Our teeth could not cut their skin with the fur and our nails are pieces of paper.
