Author Topic: Are people too dependent on technology now a days?  (Read 3320 times)

Movies such as Wall-E and Her show to me that technology will never truly surpass human interaction and thought.
You realize that there's nothing explicitly impossible about creating consciousnesses/sentience in a robot, right?

when i referred to thought i meant that their thoughts are heightened aptly higher than our own yet its our inputs that create it or something id superego yadda land sea sky
man its what i think and i'm just a jobber guy

I want one of those chairs.

and I bet I'm not the only one.

The only thing stopping me from that is not having a way to kill prey naturally. Our teeth could not cut their skin with the fur and our nails are pieces of paper.

Monkeys use tools, you dumber than a monkey?

My richard, balls and hands are the only tools I'll ever need.

I'm having trouble figuring out if you're saying it IS impossible or if it is possible.

Of course it isn't impossible. Didn't you hear Cave Johnson?

"If we can store music on a compact disk, why can't we store someone's personality on one?"

Too dependent on technology? What does that even mean? That's like asking if cheetahs are too dependent on being fast.

I don't understand how someone can be critical about our species using our only survival asset. It is just assigning arbitrary values of acceptableness to something that doesn't matter at all.

Cheetahs ARE too dependent on being fast, lol. Ever watched NatGeo Wild?

The point is that being fast is the main characteristic that makes them a viable species. They have nothing else to consistently rely on when catching their prey.

I literally get angry about a broken button on my sky remote.
