almost lost a $1,600 package

How did they ALMOST lose it?

what if you ordered a bucket of weights and they replace it with weights

Put very cheap weights inside. They just might replace them with more expensive weights. Profit!

I prefer UPS because USPS delivers to me towards the end of the day, UPS comes in the morning.

the thing is if you're buying the cheapest weights available, chances are the shady postmen are also buying the same cheap weights so they have to spend as little money as possible. someone's likely already tried this, and if they opened the package they would know and just ship it anyways since it's of no use to them

Buy five 5lb weights and label the package with 50lbs.  They'll take them and replace them with 50lbs of weights, and not 25.

it'll probably be obvious they're just 5 5lb weights if they open up the box to look
heck they may even already know by the label that it's just a big box of weights and just ship them anyways. not like they have a use for them other than to put them in other packages.

I find it funny that UPS drivers find our house better than visitors who come to visit.

I live on a cul de sac in the woods. You cant see my house well unless you pull into the driveway

We actually have better UPS guys than FedEx (horrible).  The only odd thing is that the UPS guys seem to have a complex against customers.  One time, the doorbell rang when I was standing right by the door, I immediately looked out the hole, and the guy was gone.  Thing is, they do it every time.  It seems they tiptoe to the front door, drop the package, get in running stance, bump the doorbell, and go dashing for the truck.
I honestly don't understand why you think this is a problem. Do you want a friend so badly that the UPS guy seems like the best solution for conversation? I don't want them there when I open the door anyway, it'd be awkward. "Thanks..? Are you looking for a tip or something? Why are you still here?"
