Author Topic: UPS Hires Very Incompetent Drivers  (Read 2866 times)

I honestly don't understand why you think this is a problem. Do you want a friend so badly that the UPS guy seems like the best solution for conversation? I don't want them there when I open the door anyway, it'd be awkward. "Thanks..? Are you looking for a tip or something? Why are you still here?"
to be fair who would want their delivery guy to be a creepy forgeter who drop packages and then disappear into thin air even if you open the door as they are ringing it

Doesn't the customer need to sign something?

not anymore apparently

Uhh....kind of came out of nowhere?

I just said that it's odd that they have to do a 100m dash (exaggeration) type of run to get away from doors.

Only if the package is explicitly marked so, usually high cost items require signatures to ensure it actually gets to the person and isn't stolen off their doorstep. It's not worth UPS's time to ensure everybody gets every package they deliver, it'd be cheaper to replace stolen packages and use that time they'd spend waiting to deliver more packages. Alcohol also requires a signature, but I've been signing for my parents' wine since I was 14. Apparently postal service agents have no idea how to card people.

I don't mind, I don't want them to be there anyway. They've got a lot more packages to deliver, and the guy gets to go home earlier if he finishes earlier. So he's got personal incentive to turn around on his heel as he presses the doorbell.

That wasn't a personal attack, I'm genuinely curious why you think that's a negative thing.

my ups guy is p chill, he was sad when my dog died (i had an irish wolfhound and everyone who wasn't scared of him loved him)

the post office lady that delivers our packages is stuff tho.
the old one used to just not deliver our packages after she scared my dog and i could hold back 180lb of protective dog and he bit her. like we'd be expecting really important stuff like testing forms and we'd never get them.
the new one crams boxes into our mailbox (even if they're marked fragile) or just leaves them lying around without notifying us.

It'd be nice if they used our loving doorbell.

Our door is made of some sort of dense wood (pine? cedar?) that doesn't resound well if there's a knock, plus it's hard as hell. Right next to the door, there's a doorbell. It's right loving there, and they can easily press it so my mom, dad, or I can retrieve the package. But no, they knock and then drop the package and walk away. I wouldn't even care if they maybe yelled "UPS!" or something before leaving so I know somebody is there.

Instead, our packages are left out on our porch, and since it rains sideways here (FLORIDA!), we better hope there's not a damn rainstorm or whatever we ordered'll get soaked. We left a package out there for three days once because we had no idea it had arrived, and the UPS/FedEx website hadn't updated that they'd delivered it. I get it if we're out of the house, but the package came with a manifest that stated it was delivered while we were home.

Just, loving UPS. They're always late, too. When I ordered my new computer, it was supposed to be delivered around noon on a Friday. They don't deliver it until SATURDAY NIGHT. AT 8 PM. SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE forget.

-snip-
oh yeah speaking of ups delivery
the biggest problem i've ever had with them was when i accidentally missed a letter in my last name and they couldn't ship it because of that for some dumb reason

thats dumb you dont even need a name to send a letter

thats dumb you dont even need a name to send a letter
yeah it pissed me off so much bc i waited like a week for it to ship (it was a new headset bc my old one stopped working) only to find out that i had missed a letter and it decided that it couldn't ship
so i had to re-order it and i paid for express shipping but it still took the standard delivery time

Got my item today, of course at the end of the day. I mean they forget up and still make me wait until 7 PM to get my package.

Doesn't matter though because the company sent me a broken product. So now all the was for nothing and I need to send it back to get a new one.

forget my life.
