Really loving cool.

How often do people actually disarm someone?

Like, even if I was a loving karate master, I'm a bag of meat. There's so many ways that could go wrong.

It's not limited to disarm. What if someone steals your gun when you're not home or something?

Not saying I fully support this idea, but think of it this way. People who find your gun (i.e. children) in your house won't be able to fire it. That would save many lives per year. Unfortunately, if you're dumb enough to leave an unlocked and loaded weapon around children, then it's likely you wouldn't purchase one of these kits anyway. The only way it'd be truly useful for this purpose is if they came built in. But if they're built in, what happens when you're doing recreational shooting and you want to share your gun? Or in a dire situation where your partner needs your gun? Or you don't/can't grip it right? Or you're wearing gloves? There are still so many things that need to be figured out before this becomes truly useful. However, I do think it has potential.

reminds me of a certain anime with a gun that decides if youre a criminal or not

Yeah, you're completely right. I was just speculating about how often people just like, take someone else's gun in hand to hand combat.

I was thinking the same thing.

It's already to crime to leave a loaded/unloaded weapon in a place where kid can grab it. Its also a crime your kid takes your gun and takes it off your property. You will end up getting charged.

Its done often in police work through various means.

good. now i can leave loaded guns out when kids are around.

I think these would be most effective for law enforcement and armored car money van bank people

If I ever had a pistol I'd consider getting something like this.
Some people want to make them required, and I guess that's a bit overkill.

thought of this a couple months ago
would be hard to enforce
