So is this going to stop the kids from stealing their fathers gun and then killing themselves? That's great.
There are and some more painful alternatives: Jump in front of train, overdose on pills, jump off a bridge/tall building, purposely crash a car, fill their car up with carbon monoxide, ect. Take away one option then I will use another.
You know what else is illegal? Brass knuckles, billy clubs(can either be a baseball bat used as a weapon or a wooden club filled with lead), dirks/dagger(a sharpened knife on both sides and intended for stabbing), cane swords, switch blades, lip stick knives, butterfly knifes, spring loaded knives, and nun-chucks. All of those are banned in public or totally banned that you are not suppose to have them period, but people still have them.
I think this is an interesting idea but that it would be better if there was just some sort of remote control for it that would arm and disarm it. and you could just leave it disarmed until you wanted to use it, rather than it only working for some people. and also that it was mandatory. and cops had remotes that would disarm all of them. of course someone would find some way around it but it may be expensive and no everyday criminal is going to be able to afford that or know how to do it themselves
also a nice plus would be that it even if it was disarmed otherwise, when the owner picked it up it would arm itself, unless of course a police officer had disarmed it
Do not underestimate the common criminal, especially black market dealers. Also murders aren't too common, most crimes that occur everyday are embezzlement and petty theft, burglary, and the occasional mini-mart robbery.
