Author Topic: [Steam] Blockland settings don't save; shaders broken  (Read 3351 times)

I recently got a new computer. I have OSX 10.9.2 on it, and when I play blockland from steam it keeps says it could not save my preferences.
When I start a new game or go to a server and try to turn on shaders, nothing happens.

Also, on the non-steam version when I run shaders I get this:

My computer is perfectly capable of running shaders. I can run them in any other game, and I can max out the Heaven Benchmark.

Post your system specs, then on the Steam version re-create the problem and post a console log. If you don't know how to do that, see the tutorial on the FAQ.

My system specs:
Intel Core i5 @ 3.4(usually ends up being ~3.6)GHz quad-core
Nvidia GTX 760(which is always on, and Intel HD Graphics is always off)
8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM
OSX 10.9.2
hold on, I'll get the log...

Yeah, I can't find the steam version of my block land folder. The tutorial doesn't show you how to find you steam version anyway.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Blockland

That is not how the OSX file system works. There is no C, no program files. There is a library and an application support, and there is no steam folder in application support.

Try using the search engine to find your Steam/Blockland files.

I be leave it blocks things from the library. I have tried searching for both and nothing comes up.

Sorry about those spelling errors and the block land instal of blockland thing. Mavericks now includes autocorrect, and sometimes it's just flat out wrong.

try this, make sure you go into "common/Blockland" not the l4d2 folder.

Alright, here's the log. I went over it and tried to fix it, but considering how I have zero experience in C, C+, and very very little in C++ I was unable to fix the problem.
Also, on a side-note when I try to turn on shaders in the steam version, nothing even happens. Not even minimum does anything.

but do your shaders work on the non-steam version?

oh wait never mind i did not read, sorry

Here's an idea. This is just a shot in the dark and probably won't work. But could someone with no problems rendering all shaders(it's okay if you lag) upload their shaders folder? I plan to replace mine with yours, to see if it could be BL not downloading something.
