Author Topic: [Steam] Blockland settings don't save; shaders broken  (Read 3341 times)

Here's an idea. This is just a shot in the dark and probably won't work. But could someone with no problems rendering all shaders(it's okay if you lag) upload their shaders folder? I plan to replace mine with yours, to see if it could be BL not downloading something.
If thats the case go into steam library, right click blockland, properties, local files, verify integrity of game cache all this does is check if blockland has downloaded everything.

Macs cannot run shaders.
Macs also have an issue on playing blockland on steam

the solution is to run a non-steam version of blockland.

get a normal computer

Yet it ran fine on my last computer, which was a mac, and was in fact on an older operating system in which, with every application, had a crapload of bugs. I'm asking for things to try, not "give up"

I just found something.
So I deleted everything in my BL folder but base and the bl app. When I launched BL it did not replace anything. So clearly it's not running the launcher or something.

Alright, sorry for the quadruple post, but the help forum has no edit button. Anyway, I tried coping my normal bl folder and overwriting my steam bl folder, and it worked and all my settings and my add ons where loaded, but, shaders still do nothing. Usually min shaders are fine and low-max are glitches out but technically there. So if I could just fix that I could use the steam version.

Looking at your log file, it seems to be a driver problem.

Setting default shader level...

So how would I go about downloading them? My graphics card is a GTX 760, and yes, I am on a Hackintosh.
Do you think I could find a port of the proper driver on a mackintosh site

Steam version of Blockland does NOT use the Blockland Launcher. If you want to replace your files, right click on Blockland in steam window, and click properties, then navigate to local files and click Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

First of all, wouldn't that mean it doesn't get updates?
Second of all: I knew V20 was a dumb update
Last of all: Why?

I meant on a Hackintosh site. Sorry, I have a crap keyboard and autocorrect. My new keyboard is on it's way, but in the mean time just mind my spelling errors.

another thing is that when I add the bl launcher as a non-steam game, everything works fine including the overlay.
So would this be a good solution? Is there any downsides of this that I should be aware of?
And back to the driver issue, tonymacx86.com says that there doesn't need to be a patch for the gtx 760. So how could it be a driver issue?

That is not how the OSX file system works. There is no C, no program files. There is a library and an application support, and there is no steam folder in application support.
Google, find any tutorial like how to get tf2 skins and that, they might say the location for the Mac Versions if it was a commentary.
