Author Topic: Avatar refuses to work - any suggestions?  (Read 760 times)

I'm trying to change my avatar to this and it's not working, it gives me that error that says it took too long or was too big or whatever. What do I do?

nothing

it wont work

ever

im serious.

thanks badspot

Keep it under 5KB or so and 75x75 pixels or less in dimension.

Lower the file size as much as humanly possible.

It should change after you get banned for a week.

if you haven't got it working in a few hours I can probably get it to work one way or another

mine changed after 2 days

yeah i didn't get it working
i'd prefer to keep the animation if at all possible

Mine is a .jpg I think and it's 74x74
worked almost immediately

i can change my avatar perfectly.

exporting as a single frame .gif through Paint.NET or GIMP works for me.
it doesnt work with photoshop.

Your avatar is the same thing as what you linked.
Edit: My avatar just changed to the normal one, instead of the fel cat one.
??

i'm exporting through gimp as a multi-frame gif at 75x75 and 150 kb

the one linked is animated.

Everytime I change mine, I have to wait a few days or so for it to actually work.
Though I haven't gotten an error message or anything.

animated .gifs don't work

any current profile with an animated .gif had it before the great SMF broke

This is the same with me.
I had to wait a few days to change to the fel cat one.
But now, it's back to normal? I didn't change it.
Yesterday I uploaded a one of the Medic I made in SFM.
the one linked is animated.
Sorry, I just peeked at the imgur page for a second.
Edit: In Opera, I'm fel cat. In Firefox, I'm normal.
