Avatar refuses to work - any suggestions?

any current profile with an animated .gif had it before the great SMF broke

as far as i know the creators for the "engine" the forums run on messed something nasty up, and it's effecting a whole ton of SMF forums

there are two different situations
either you get an error or you don't. if you don't, then just wait a few days and it should eventually switch to the correct avatar. if you do, then that's when it's probably the problem with the file headers (it isn't actually a size issue)
