Are they implying the reason there aren't more women in administrative positions due to little girls not wanting to be branded as bossy?
possibly
but possibly it's the whole thing where a man who takes charge of a situation and leads people is seen as assertive and capable whereas a woman doing such a thing tends to be branded as bossy or being a bitch.

I've yet to actually see this so I'll just take your word for it. When a women takes charge she's usually classified as a bitch if she's a bitch from what I've seen. Likewise if a man takes charge he's classified as a richard instead of being assertive and capable if he's being a richard.

I've never seen this double standard and if it does exist it's not on a very large scale at all mainly because there really aren't too many instances were anyone 'takes charge' at a young age.

Seems pointless. Banning "bossy" isn't going to make girls more outgoing, instead we should try to foster confidence from a young age.
yeah, why are they trying to ban a single rather meaningless word and thinking that will affect anything? And if they think being called "bossy" is really one of the main things damaging a kid's confidence, they need to get out of their ikea dream house.
Why do so many people try to ban things that can only potentially have any negative outcome?

It's like we are obsessed with creating some regulated, sterile world where nobody can possibly get hurt by banning any minuscule imperfections.
Maybe they should ban scissors and steak knives too because it's possible to get cut from them. Hell, if you don't treat a cut right and get it infected you can even potentially die.

Prevent confidence issues by perhaps talking to the kid instead or something.

sorry, felt like venting.

I'd say baddy might ban you for this but it's so damn tempting

My only real issue with this is that, okay, lets say they're spot on, this is the cause as to why there aren't more women leaders. What's the next step? Going school to school talking to all the children every year giving some slide show as to why being a female leader is just as good as a male one? Because that would seriously do nothing and there's nothing else they really can do.
