I think I read in one of the articles that one of the residents said they smelled gas, but apparently the area always smelled like gas. So probably.

Then why don't they call civil defence? Something as simple as a light switch can cause the gas to explode.

I live about 10 miles south of Harlem, it's pretty scary to think about it. Then again most crimes that happen in my borough (Manhattan) happen in the Harlem section.
