The Game Theory video talks about gameplay elements, which is not equivalent to plot. In gameplay you can run in circles five hundred times before going to the store. If that was part of the plot, then whoever you're playing as would come in as handicapped. Can you imagine what playing at the speed of sound would be? Let alone Light Speed. Gameplay can't show that speed since it'd be extremely hard to control, and all fun would be taken away.
