Can't get achievement "Educated"

From what I understand, the achievement "Educated" is unlocked by completing the tutorial gamemode.  Despite this, I have completed the tutorial several times in both singleplayer and multiplayer, and I'm still missing the achievement.  Does anyone have a solution or at least insight?

giving yourself the achievement isn't cheating or unfair if the only reason you didn't already have it was because of some bug
