Author Topic: Website draft feedback - Updated!  (Read 943 times)

i think i've fell in love with this way to draw humans
So I've been wanting to make a website for myself for quite a while but the only hosting services with good website builders take at least $10 a month to host (out of my budget) and I thought it'd be really cool to make my own website design.
This is a draft made in photoshop over about an hour or two, it's based off a couple of sketches i made in school for the designs. I am aware that their are some problems with the details but I'd like feedback on the actual design itself for now, primarily I want to know what you guys think I should do for the background of the website.
Image has transparency so it might look a little wierd with a blue background, click on the picture if you want to see how it's meant to look.

possible other homepage design:

I have to say it turned out a lot better than i expected
login/account settings concept:

is rly good i like it

except that the grammar is wrong for "I Am An Orange Man", but idk mybe that sintentional;l.. givs me hedake tho...

also the name needs a bit more space to the sides or something, it's hard to make a distinction between that and the navigation links next to it

I intentionally don't use an "N" on it, kind of like "think different" instead of "think differently" I guess.

will go on my to do list, I'll make text a little smaller and more spaced out

why

looks pretty alright; here are my suggestions:

def needs a different background. way too distracting. if you wanna stick with the current pattern you could probably subdue the color (a lot), and/or add some gradient type thing, like this maybe?

the dudes with the speech bubbles seem kinda haphazard compared to the rest of the site. consider organizing them a bit more orderly, or just remove them entirely and stick with good ol' fashioned text blocks.

as for the profile thing, it needs more padding around the edges in general, and the bottom of all of the elements should line up.

Look awesome man, just make sure not to write it in PHP :P

Thanks this is really helpful, I think I'm going to put the orangemen at the top then make the advertisments horizontal and beneath them, or just move them to another page

Thx :)
I'm considering JS right now
