Author Topic: Apparently Watch Dog Megathread  (Read 6094 times)

ITT the lovely people of the Internet bitch incessantly about how stuffty a game that hasn't been released is.
Just shut the forget up and play the thing when it comes out, or don't.
EDIT: Not necessarily regarding the last couple posts, but definitely plenty of it in this thread.

Looks like they put some effort into the PC version, that's neat. :D
It actually feels a lot closer to the earlier footage then the other trailers.
Cool, hopefully this will at least take some worries away from some people.

The original gameplay footage was played on a PC, so yeah.

It looks loving lovey though, notably the part where the light from the phone hes holding shows on Aiden's face.

Isn't it true they used PC gameplay when they said they were using PS4 gameplay?

Didn't the video itself say that they were running the PC dev kit?

Unless you're in the flesh and actually see the console, automatically assume it's a PC running a GTX 760 or better. No idea on the other specs, I just remember that loving green glow coming from the custom cases.

This makes me want a GTX 760, but the thing I'm most impressed with in this newest video is the city itself. It looks and feels like a real city, and that's important, more important than graphics.

guys guys try to spot the main character.... oh right he's the guy in the loving trenchcoat with the cap hunching over like he's mysterious or somestuff.

I really hope there will be an extensive way of changing your characters looks because i'd actually like to blend in with the NPCs. It would make more sense that way to me imo.

Just putting it out there that I worked Ubi PR for an event involving Watch_Dogs, and I have my contacts.
Just popping in to back up McJobless on this. I don't know much about Watch_Dogs, but I know McJobless. He was really darn hyped about it all and was talking about the interview, getting the job, etc quite a lot (up until he had to sign the NDA anyway - then he just talked about the rest of the event a lot).

[9:45:46 PM] McJobless: I need refferences for this Ubisoft job.
[9:48:34 PM] jamesster: collision detection works perfectly
[9:48:21 PM] SGT Alcom Isst: As of when?
[9:48:34 PM] McJobless: As of now. Interview is tomorrow.
[9:48:39 PM] jamesster: now to make it actually DO something
[9:48:42 PM] McJobless: I'll probably have to end up cancelling.
[9:48:49 PM] jamesster: yeah collision detection how totally pro
[9:48:54 PM] jamesster: wait interview what
[9:48:55 PM] jamesster: what
[9:48:59 PM] McJobless: Location is...difficult...to get to before 9AM which is the interview time.
[9:49:05 PM] McJobless: Some Ubisoft press conference job.
[9:49:34 PM] jamesster: hm

[7:47:12 PM] McJobless: YYEEEESSSS
[7:47:14 PM] McJobless: YEEEEESSS
[7:47:17 PM] McJobless: I DID IT
[7:47:17 PM] McJobless: I GOT IT
[7:47:20 PM] McJobless: I GOT THE UBISOFT JOB
[7:47:24 PM] McJobless: YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

He didn't find out exactly which event he was doing PR for until after he got the job, but as he hasn't mentioned the exact event here I dunno if he would want me to, but his reaction to finding out was pretty funny.

Doesn't really prove anything. Want to show us some sort of event press pass or whatever they hand out to employees?

Doesn't really prove anything.
Wasn't trying to; I'm just mentioning that I know McJobless pretty well, he doesn't post BS, and I definitely know he did that job. But even then, take it with a grain of salt - it's all essentially a game of Ubisoft telephone. There's likely some truth to it, but regardless, only time will tell what the actual game is like.

Will an AMD Athlon II x3 460 be able to run it?

Any AMD would look bad because it isn't Nvidia :P
