Author Topic: Okay...I don't know how to port forward....  (Read 1278 times)

Hi guys,I need to know how to port Forward on mac Mountain Lion....so please tell me how to

It's done on the router or your Internet company's modem/router they gave you.
Not the como itself.

Try going to the website 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
See if the router loads up

Do what Bisjac said and follow these instructions:

http://blockland.us/portforward/

Okay. First open Command Prompt. To do so press the windows button and search "CMD". It should be the first result. In command prompt type "ipconfig"
Scroll down till you find an entry titled "Default Gateway". Right click anywhere on the screen and press "Mark", highlight the address and press "Enter" on your keyboard. Open you internet browser and in the address bar press Ctrl+V and the address you marked in CMD should paste. Go to that site. Often times it will prompt you with a username and password, these are often a combination of "admin" and "password". Once on this site you need to find the area for port forwarding. On my router its under "Applications & Gaming". Once you find it enter the port you would like to forward for both external and internal ports (Unless you know what your doing that is). For protocol choose "Both" or "TCP & UDP". for "To IP address" open up command prompt again type "ipconfig" and look for the submission "IPv4 Address" Look at the last 3 digits and enter those into the "To Ip Address" column. Press enable and save.

Then press the windows button and search "Firewall" and select "Windows firewall with advanced security" click the "Inbound Rules" tab and press "New Rule". Select "Port" and press next, select "TCP" and enter the port you forwarded above. Press "Allow the Selection" and next. Press next again name it whatever you want. Repeat this another time except when prompted TCP or UDP select UDP.

Thats it! You both made an exception and forwarded the port. All ready to go

ANND your on mac... dammit
