Witnessing crimes gives the player demerits instead of just adding them, the player would need to see the murderer and the victim in their screen at the same time. So basically if you're stealthy you can get away with murder.

I don't know anything about code, but I didn't think Torque could do stuff based on what's displayed on a player's screen. Cool.

You can check to see weather or not an object is in their line of sight.

I'd still need some help with the rules of this "witness" system. What crimes would it affect? How would crimes be reported? etc.

I was thinking you'd report crimes by either making it to the police station, or calling 9-1-1, which would have a 5(?) second wait in-between you pulling out your phone and reporting the crime.

Should witnesses' memories be erased when they die?

What would be the point to remove criminal, mobster, mobboss, and godfather? They pretty much fuel the general economy by being idiots.

Bullstuff. Idiots with guns just ruins the whole city rp. Wouldn't have a problem with there being no weapons at all.

In Garrysmod DarkRP the only way for a player to get "wanted" is if they are wanted by a police officer with /want name. That could really work if there were set laws like a box on everyone's screen in the corner containing the laws like No guns etc. The only huge problem with this idea that I can think of would be Blockland players unable to handle it and could troll. If you have a great admin team it may not be a problem though.

For witnessing crimes it's difficult to have a 911 report channel or something because then what happens when the cops get there? You can't just auto add demerits if it's reported. The only way that might work is if when you see someone lock pick a door, or kill someone it notifies you that you witnessed a crime and you can report it to the police. After you report it then demerits could be added.
