Author Topic: WTF is wrong with my headphones?  (Read 1030 times)

Okay, I got these Christmas of 2012 (http://bit.ly/1kZ9HbU), and I started to use them recently again because I just got back my Internet. So I go to hook these into my PS3 (which is mainly what I use it for), and it works fine. (they aren't designed for sound to be transmitted into the headsets.) So I go to play TF2, hook them up and start TF2 up. I noticed no sound was being transmitted to the headsets (if it's connected to the computer, sound DOES come through it.) I tried to use my communication key, which wouldn't work either (I hear that it doesn't work unless something isn't being detected.) This is really loving weird, I check in my sounds, the microphone is working fine. When I tested the speaker (which transmits a series of beeps,) I hear nothing. I tried experimenting with computer sounds, but to no avail.

What could be wrong? The mic is fine, but I'd really like to hear the game and other people.

why spend $100 for extremely ugly headphones ew

anyway restart computer

Nope, tried earlier.

USB?

Yep.

Okay, I just tested the circuits for the speakers, and they are indeed working, but I have no clue what's going on here.

You could RMA them and buy a pair of loving headphones with a normal aux connector.

its because you bought afterglow headphones
they're notorious for breaking

I'm not really familiar with "aux", do you mean the USB?

Auxiliary audio cable. The regular headphones cable.

I think USB headsets are way more efficient.

Aux is faster than USB for audio.

What do you mean "faster"? You hear the same sounds exactly at the same time they are made, regardless what type of connection it is, it's the same thing, metal and wires.

It looks the same. But software-speaking, it isn't the same.

i've heard that usb is better for sound quality because you don't have to hope you have a good sound card or smth
