Author Topic: What is the point of an overpriced "gaming" mouse  (Read 5541 times)

gaming mice actually DO improve the use of a mouse. Its not all just aesthetics.

this is my mouse:

I thought it'd be super useful when I first got it but I almost never use those buttons on the side lmao

Because it makes people feel cool. Also, the proper word is "mice", not "mouses"

Does it make phone calls too? It looks like a phone booth with those dial buttons on the side.

because they are contoured to rest your hand and have better sensitivity or some stuff
I can turn up the sensitivity in my game options / mouse options thank you, and do you think that is contoured to rest in anyones hand? No, it's not.

I spent ten dollars on my mouse and the only reason I bought it was for a back and forward button on the side
Do you have the same mouse as me?

Got this. Pretty mice, comfortable mouse. Has 11 buttons, which can be very useful for binding commands in games. Has DPI changing and is pretty smooth.

I think it was worth it. not all the good gaming mice are $200 dollars. If they are, you must be looking at a razor mouse, which are pretty pricey because of the brand name itself.

It was $60-ish but I've had it for a long time and I love it. It's kinda neat how the body of the mouse is made out of aluminum. Only thing I hate is the "sniper" button on the side. It's a really stuffty gimmick but it was either this or the plastic version without the button.

Wow, you people... Read into the situation a little. The fact that it's an "adjustable multi-button gaming mouse" is not the only thing - or even the main thing - that makes it expensive. They are more complex than the standard mouse, more advanced (duh), and generally use higher quality materials. This combined with the extra hours that went into designing it and the extra work required to make it (plus a bit of propaganda) is what raises the price to such high levels.

The mouse in OP looks so uncomfortable.

The mouse in OP looks so uncomfortable.
its suprisingly not.

I use a normal mouse.
The one in the op looks horrid, why the hell would you need two bottom slates that probably don't turn with ease.
That's asking for carpel tunnel.
