Tattoos: opinions, ideas & showcase

So I noticed there is not a Tattoo thread within the first 3 pages and I'd actually be interested in hearing some of the communities views and thoughts on them.
How many of you have a tattoo or are considering getting one at some point? I personally plan on getting several once I can fund them and can find a artist who can produce the design I am looking for. The Hylian crest on a majority of my back would be the largest and first one.

Also I know asking this is futile but please don't bash the hell out of the ideas people have. It's their body let them do what they please. Unless it's some lame ass lyric that half the world already has pasted on their skin, then feel free to bash the forget out of them.

I think tatoos can be pretty awesome. Sleeves are okay, but I'd never get one. I had contemplated getting a small one, but I dont have any money and my parents wouldnt pay for that lol.

I personally wouldn't get one, since I don't like the idea of staining something into my skin forever, and I could never have the committment to a design.


I also think that there are a lot of loving awful tattoos out there, which are both sloppily done, poorly chosen and badly planned.

You can get some good tattoos, which are attractive and don't dominate a persons appearance.
But I personally find these few and far between.

I agree that a lot people put about as much thought into a design as they put into picking what cereal to have for breakfast. that's why I would stick to things that symbolize me and what I live by. Longboarding/Snowboarding, Guitar, and maybe pizza

My first tattoo, which is upper right arm and extending onto shoulder, is booked for 22nd May.
It's a large treble clef attached to a blue/purple rose with a thorned stem.
Wrote up a whole essay on its meaning for a friend and got her to design it, took a couple years (of work onceish a month, and am very excited to see it actually come to life on my skin soon :D
It took a long time to design because she asked me to be incredibly brown town about every single detail, because tattoos are permanent, and so; I was.


The tattoo is going to actually differ from this, as the tattoo artist doing it pointed out that it would have to wrap round to the part of the arm against my torso on the inside, which wouldn't be as good, so the stem is extending up to shoulder and the rose is going to be on my shoulder/collar area
