A devkit which is, as far as specifications are concerned, either inferior to the latest dev model, the eventual release or both. Doesn't change the overall message I was trying to deliver
It does. I already own a rift, and it is fully functional. It doesn't have x-y-z tracking like in the new test models, and that is really the only problem. You clearly haven't tried it, it's not that high quality, but your eyes cause you to look past the pixels.
The devkit is incredible, and not at all inferior to the new test models. People like to exaggerate. The test models allow you to lean over the edge of things, and things like that, but for the average gamer using the rift, you'll be sitting in a chair, and not leaning all over the place. It has more pixels, but the low pixel count doesn't bother me at all. I don't even notice them.
I am more educated on this issue than you are. I own an Oculus Rift, I have developed programs for it, and I've been following it's progress for over a year. Facebook is not the way this company needs to be going. I don't think the Rift can get worse, but I feel like Facebook won't deliver what fans are hoping for.
