Author Topic: Tennessee passes bill allowing bullying to other LGBT students  (Read 9866 times)

actually I didn't catch on, you can't prove I did

I guess even if we can repeat experiments that demonstrably show that something is true (such as in the case of all of our technology), it still isn't true because ???
How do these experiments prove that something of the past is true when the results from experiments can also probably be something else.

A Creationist created your MRI machine, so much for technology relying on the absolute law that technology can only go forward if you believe something exploded and you weren't there to see it.
Look, it's okay to believe in creationism, but don't go dissing things you don't understand.
I diss all and any beliefs that attack other ones to promote how "right" they are.

hey, just wanna point out, that statistic is pulled right the forget out of your ass. also, there's innumerous stars and places for life to form in the universe (beyond the observable reaches as well), plus any life that did form would obviously be part of the minority (since they can observe themselves).
it's not. it's not exactly accurate either though. Basically, there are 17 different amino acids to chose from. 1st gets picked, huge chance of that. Second one getting picked, 1 to 289. If you continue on, until all the proteins have been picked, I'm pretty sure it's somewhere around 10152.

This bill is a good idea. We've all seen the affects on children when they aren't getting their daily dose of bullying. You outlaw bullying and autism will spread like wildfire.

hey i should not go outside because there is a 1 in 100000000 percent chance that i just MIGHT be hit by a crazy driver.

you know what science is? it's NOT a religion. it's NOT a belief. it's asking questions

"hmm, i wonder why it rains"
"hmm, i wonder if i could make a lightbulb"
"hmm, i wonder where life came from"
"hmm, i wonder if this explanation just might be wrong"

scientific theories are constantly disproven, and are replaced with new ones. which, themselves, might be incorrect as well. we just have no idea. if you want to believe there's some big guy with a silly beard floating in space somewhere who made us, sure, we can't prove OR disprove it. if you want to believe there's some big explosion that happened a long time ago that created the universe, sure, we can't prove OR disprove it. all i know is that there is a spaghetti monster and we should all bow down and praise him. eat pasta. pasta makes people happy. bitches love pasta.

That's not the point. The big bang theory doesn't attack creationism. The former just has much much more evidence supporting it.

There's no "right" in science. You're saying that we claim to be right, but we don't. We just claim to have far more evidence.

a couple miles isn't that deep...

In my point of view, the Biblical Flood was directly linked to the breakup of Pangaea.  The Mid-Ocean Ridges and fissures under the ocean.  It has been stated even by atheists that a large water content used to be apparent underneath the crust.  In the Bible, there are parts that go along the lines of, "and the fountains of the deep burst forth".  By looking at this and going by other data, the observable continental land mass at that time would have exploded (causing the fissures) with "fountains" of water gushing miles into the air for a long period of time.  This leads to the speculation of the odd wording where it then says, "it rained for 40 days and 40 nights".  The gushing water would have completely oversaturated the atmosphere, which would be a perfect reason for the seemingly monsoonal rain.

Check this:

You can see that the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is shaped to a dime to the PRECISE shape of the ENTIRE African coast, molds to South America very nicely, and imitates the east coast of North America.  In my view, the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is the main breaking point that forced out the large quantity of water from under the Earth's main continental land mass.

Other things that are a stretch, but possible things to contemplate:

> The face of the moon that faces the earth is full of craters, but the back side has relatively few in comparison.  If the water ejecting from the Earth was powerful enough that some of it was able to actually exit the gravitational pull, it would have frozen on contact with the extremely low temperatures of space.  There also would be nothing to slow it down.  The crystals would be attracting each other by their own gravitational pulls (everything has some gravity) to form small frozen balls of ice, which would be pelting the moon.

> Some Creationism scientists think that some of the water crystals formed large enough lumps that they would be affected by the sun's gravity.  This would be an idea to where comets originated from.  Sounds quite stretchy, but still possible.

Wow this Sir Dooble post.  :)

the beliefs aren't attacking anything though, some of the people who have them are
Heh, just wanna point out that the most simple protein (which is necessary for life) has a 1 in 10000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000 chance of being formed.
what is that big number? you don't even know. considering how many planets there are and how much time they've existed, it's totally plausible that, even with your ridiculous bs number, at least one planet would eventually create life

Be careful not to set the server on fire, guys.

i hope you arent serious

I think it follows a similar principle when they outlawed alcohol (during when???)

Crime thrived and it was worse off illegal. So they made it legal.

what are you saying?? some mafia is gonna benefit from trying to stop bullying??

Lockebox, I know this is irrelevant, but seriously, whose alt are you? You have not even spent a week on the forums and the vast majority of your posts, if not all of them, have been in the Offtopic sections, also starting a full-fledged argument in this thread.

All the emotionally inferior die and America can be strong again.
