RCA and VGA are incompatible without a converter box.

Aren't they both brown townog?

Why would you need a converter?

He's not trying to connect the audio up just the video signal. RCA isn't a signal encoding or transmission standard or anything it is just the type of connector. Both brown townog composite and component setups typically both use the same RCA connector but are different signal standards.
