Author Topic: How to get transparency in Blender 2.49b?  (Read 1699 times)

So, I've asked a few people this question. I want to have transparency on some things I model, but I don't see the option. Everyone always says "Well there should be a 4th variable with RGB called Alpha". Well, here's what's happening in my blender.

Alpha doesn't exist here. How do I get transparency in this situation?

Do you want to make something transparent in-game? If yes, then it is an exporter setting.

If you are using version 0.97b3 of the DTS exporter, then you can set up transparency the following way:

1. Under the Shape tab, find the Materials tab
2. Select the material you wish to make transparent
3. Click on "Translucent" and either "Additive" or "Subtractive"
4. Enjoy

Does this method make it totally invisible? Or just partially seethrough? I want something to the effect of colored glass once all is said and done.

It will be glass-like; your model in Blender's display won't be affected, though.
