Author Topic: Effect Idea "Fake normal Mapping"?  (Read 1164 times)

Got this idea of creating a bunch of 1x1-F print textures that are edits of the stud texture with their shading "moved" around.

So pretty much a bunch of stud texture prints that have their shading changed to create a fake normal map looking effect when placed around a light.

Would this work well?

i dont really understand can you show me a picture/gif/video

You mean like that shiny white part of the stud?
Like, face it towards the light for an effect?

Yes, pretty much like this with more light combos.

"L" is the light source or brick.

Cant you just make prints for this instead of using custom bricks?

My bad.  I thought prints where named "Decals".

Edited OP.

All you would need is a single print of the stud texture.
Rotate the print brick to the position you want.
