Author Topic: First ground zero storm outbreak for STL 2014 [The big one is coming]  (Read 3961 times)

Oklahoma is supposed to get this as well.

RIP me.

I hope everything is ok for you, XR. Have any of you been through a tornado before? If so, what was it like? (PS: I have never been through one).

I've been through 2 tornado warnings where I have lived, 1 when I was before 5 years old I think and 1 last year.

I've actually never seen one yet, but I've had many close calls.  It's a requirement before I die that I must see one.

The closest was on December 31, 2010.  About 15 tornadoes passed within 50 miles of my house.  One person was killed when a EF3 ripped through a suburb that I regularly drive through about 20 miles north (Sunset Hills, MO).  The close one was an EF0 which passed my house by less than one mile.  It only knocked some weak trees down and didn't even knock down any power poles though.  This was also the first outbreak that I ever predicted from only my own readings, and I did so five days ahead of time.

I've probably been through more than 200 lol

This isn't a joke m8

I was in a hurricane when I was a baby.

My call:
Winds around 25mph with 40mph gusts
1.5-2" rain total

Does look like it could bring some heavy storms. Your TORCON is too low for me to say there will be tornadoes for sure, but I wouldn't rule it out.

However, I only looked at data from one satellite run. I focus more on the Northeast.

Oh snap. Hope my house doesn't blow away!

april 27 2011 and january 23-24 2012 tornadoes were scary

the jan 23-24 tornado almost hit my house and the f5 in tuscaloosa (alabama) was scary anyway

I love storms (except for the damaging part.)
They're so interesting and neat.

Round 1:

Large cellular cluster just minutes from impact. This one will be a hail maker.

Come at me, bro.

oop the heart of the storm is hitting me right now at school

It just passed me a few minutes ago

I got a ton of marble sized hail. It actually accumulated lol
