Author Topic: Are there any courses on vancouver island for game design?  (Read 510 times)

I know that there's the Vancouver Game Design course but that's on the mainland and I can't afford to live in Vancouver so I need a similar course that's on the island. But is a game design course even worth it?

it's a daunting task when you think about it

controlling the style of a $40M-$70M AAA game, one design flaw could cost the majority of your market, yet still having to suck your publisher's balls to just stay hired, even if you get hired in the first place

unless you want to be an indie designer, but your smaller team would require everyone to know at least some code

also no idea about that vancouver thing, i didn't even know vancouver has/is an island to begin with

Well Vancouver is a city and Vancouver island is an island next to Vancouver.

Silly kids. Word of video games don't reach islands.

University of Victoria.

That or you might just have to go to Metro Van yourself.

Vancouver Art Institute might be an option. I got a waver during a cooking course listing all of the courses they have there. Graphics design and game design being 2 on the list.
