Then it's not dying. If support ends it doesn't mean it'll stop working.

What do they mean support is ending, you can't get help with it, no more updates? I have a computer running XP that's not completely useless, infact I'm using it to host something ATM.

just use windows 7 and make it look like windows xp.

or if you dont mind not having the windows xp feel go get windows 8

Vista was the end of DOS. Vista changed how the OS boots. Since MSDOS wasn't implemented, DOS programs couldn't run. IMO, Vista was pretty good.

It's garbage compared to Windows 7.

they're not releasing any security patches for it anymore

which means zeroday exploits and other bugs get left unfixed
