Author Topic: So apparently a kid brought a gun to my school.  (Read 5232 times)

So apparently a freshmen "accidentally" brought a gun to school. He got busted in his second hour and was sent to the office, where he was said to be arrested.

People were saying he might go to juvy, but I don't know.

Everyone was surprised we didn't go on lockdown.

having a gun =/= shooting rampage.
quit being so brainwashed

you arent on spring break?

spring break isn't a national event, it happens at different times in different places

How do you get busted for having a gun in your backpack? Does your school have metal detectors in its hallways or something? I could carry around ten guns in a backpack and nobody would notice until I pulled one out, even then they'd probably think it's a prop.

No I'm in fourth quarter now. Spring break ended a few weeks ago for me.

Someone who had known supposedly reported him

I mean, if I opened up my pack and pulled out my binder and to my surprise a handgun was laying among my belongings, of all my possible reactions zero of them would be to tell somebody.

I think even a prop would get you in a decent bit of trouble.
Also, the first time he opened the backpack (because you know, he's in school) it'd be obvious.

By prop I meant a stage prop, i.e. something the school allowed.

Also, maybe it'd be obvious if this kid was carrying around an AK-47, but I'm imagining a handgun that would hide quite nicely inside a large backpack.

some people can get pretty desperate, he probably did bring it to try to show it off, and maybe he was just an idiot and did it in a classroom with a teacher or something
and it's pretty safe to assume anyone bringing a gun to school is an idiot

uh
not really
I mean, how big do you think guns are?

idk most handguns are pretty sizable.

like, if you're holding it in your hand, maybe
but it would take a lot to keep you from being able to hide it in a backpack

I mean, how big do you think guns are?

They range from about 4 inches for those little tiny guns, to about 8 inches for most "proper" handguns, to about 18 inches for automatic weapons, and then the only thing that would actually be at the one-yard mark would be a shotgun. I suppose a sniper rifle would have a longer barrel, but to be honest, I can't see someone trying to commit a shootup with a rifle which is by definition best at long ranges and from cover.

Unless you're using a machine gun.

Then all bets are off.

Welp

he brought a gun

and he got in trouble

So where else can we go with this. IT seems all the cards are in place now
