Shoot dat tree over dere

What about Minecraft's modded shaders

Light rays

Different shadow tones and crispiness

Realistic water movement and reflections

And some bloom effects

These and Just Cause 2's shaders are the best I've seen imo

I think the most Blockland would benefit from is Ambient Occlusion. And then there's Port's Soft Shadows which does that pretty much but it's extremely laggy.

shadows are barely optimized, I can't even imagine how laggy would ambient oc be.

What if badspot/kompressor got a license for enlighten and included it it blockland.

Maybe even imagine Blockland with Gmod-like physics and interactive fake-killed bricks
You know, the things we could only dream about..

Its kind of weird how three young children brought variations of 3D resource packs and shadows/shaders to Minecraft, and made it look loving amazing.
Now, lets take a look at other game companies who has a staff comprised of over 150+ people working on their game, yet there game still doesn't look amazing compared to the screenshots I just observed.

Sad.

I'm pretty sure someone can add these effects to the shaders, but no one except port is really trying to add anything to the shaders we have now. Unless something I don't know of is preventing this (other than the fact that the framerates will Self Delete for most people), it's really just been no one attempting to make these things yet.

This but with blockheads:
