Author Topic: Time travel scenario  (Read 1499 times)

Scenario:
Time travel is possible
someone offers you to do one of two things:

1. Travel to a certain point in time, change one thing, and come back to your time to witness the repercussions

2. Travel to a certain point in time, and live there for the rest of your life. you will be fitted with your own identity, (if needed) and given money (if it exists) from that time/place

Post which choice you would take along with where you would go/what you would do.

be as vague and ambiguous as you want ie: "i would go back and tell her i love her"
put a year or a time frame if necessary

go back and tell my old self to not to take all the legos apart

go back and tell my old self to not to take all the legos apart
>back in time
>old self

"i would go back and tell her i love her"
well yeah basically

I'd travel back in time and warn my past self not to waste the one shot at time travel I'm going to be given.

2 kinda. it would be neat to visit a few thousand years in the future, but I don't think I'd want to stay there, so if I wouldn't be able to come back, I'd just decline the offer, or go one second into the future

this isn't possible, because if that thing is changed, you would have never had a reason to go back in time, so you wouldn't have, and it would break something or something. obviously we don't know what actually happens when a paradox occurs

Pretty sure I've said this before in a similar thread but yeah I'd learn a heap about medicines and herbal treatments then go far back in time to live as a legendary shaman who must cleanse the bodies of all the village daughters :3

It's funny how it makes sense but also doesn't.

I would go like chrono trigger all over time

Go back and buy bl earlier.

I would take a handgun, go back in time three minutes, then shoot myself in the back of the head as I was walking into the time machine.

LOGIC

I'd travel back to the 80's with all our advancement in videogames and computer tech. Claim it as my own and build an empire around it.

i'd go to then and tell him not to because if he does then it will happen

Well you know how in the 2009 Star Trek movie Spock is sent back in time and everything is changed? Star Trek Online takes place from Spock's point of origin in time - it goes on without him and everyone assumes he just went missing. The new timeline runs in parallel with the old one, and there's really no way to go between them because you'd probably create even more parallel timelines if you tried.

yeah time travel is a loving weird concept but it's fun to think of how it works

Option A. I would go back in time and kill the gothic mercenary the Romans hired that would later destroy Rome. Rome would survive longer, potentially preventing the Dark Ages and therefore the Renaissance.
