I don't know.
Funny thing is, genetically, there are actually two types of A blood: AO and AA, but because O is recessive they are functionally equivalent. Same for B.

Universal is ambiguous. Whoever told you that was right - the universal receiver, not donor.
EDIT: So I just asked my mom - we think I'm O+, but we're not sure.

i meant to say i was told the universal donor was the rarest
