No, beat his loving ass. I'm not sure if this was a high school or not but less people could have been injured with a well placed chair to the face. They always encourage people to run and hide, seemingly forgetting that if the person has a gun, or the person is actually looking for students, hiding and running does nothing. Their are at least hundreds of students and one attacker. The guy can't can't all of you and its better then hiding in a room waiting for the guy to come in and get you.

Also, I'm happy this one didn't get the chance to kill himself. Now he can actually receive the punishment he deserves.

You guys may be saying this now, but that's because you're levelheaded and not in a dangerous situation. You are right though, they could've taken the knife. But most people don't want to do that and risk dying, despite the fact that hiding won't do much. People aren't rational during an emergency.

Now perhaps some of you anti-gun kids out there understand why getting rid of guns doesn't stop this kind of violence. It's the person that's the problem, not the weapon.

I don't know about you but I'd rather have the risk that someone comes in with a knife and tries stabbing, than comes in and shoots everyone from a distance.

Or you know, maybe the problem here isn't guns/knives at all, but America's backwards culture.
It's not like it's a common occurence in America. What can you say when there have been 32 school shootings alone this year, let alone how many other non-gun related 'rampage' events have happened so far.
