Author Topic: does anyone here 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠𝑙𝑦 listen to rap  (Read 4154 times)

I used to, then I stopped liking it. I am not a true black person. :(
You're the suburban black guy.

That's saying I perceive it as such. "much" For the most part.

I'm aware of that. I'm saying no one's going to think you perceive "much" of it, they're going to think what information you gave them, which was the genre.

Anyways, on topic:

Rap's never really been something I've explored too much, what I've been exposed to (mainstream stuff) I haven't liked at all. Some more meaningful rap I've actually liked though, so I'm sure if I actually listened to some artists with real meaning to their songs I could get into rap.

"Deep (dēp) adjective

difficult to understand
-snip-"

Only definition of the word that fit.

Deep, no. Mildly amusing, kind of.
Not saying it's bad, just not really deep. Unless your being sarcastic.

If I were to listen to rap, I'd listen to rap that either was legitimately deep, or at the very least, hilarious (*cough*Thrift Shop*cough cough*).

real rap
tyler the creator
odd future
earl sweatshirt
asap ferg
childish gambino

I just love Childish Gambino

aesop rock
jurassic 5
outkast
mf doom
kanye (mostly older stuff)
aloe blacc
the roots
a tribe called quest
del tha funkee homosapien / deltron 3030

also some old songs by the black eyed peas, mainly before fergie came along (joints and jam is a good example)

i found setro in the comments of a 90's rap song.

Thrift Shop isn't even funny though. And if you want rap that's legitimately deep listen to this.

Kurupt is pretty nice

Childish Gambino

Kid Cudi and A$ap Rocky are the only rappers I like
