Author Topic: So I'm about to bust my ass getting this car out of the woods.  (Read 1813 times)

I really dont know who owns it, whether it has it's title or not, keys, or what have you. I know its been sitting since about 77. Transmission is automatic and probably stuff. Engine is the factory 440. I want to restore it. It's a 1970 Dodge Coronet.

Thats what its supposed to look like except change the vinyl top to white vinyl. It's in the middle of the loving woods and its in actually pretty good shape for this year. Not too much visible rust. Havent checked floor pans, oh dear god lol. Only got one picture. Will be getting more tomorrow. I'll update you guys on my progress.

I brushed off some leaves earlier and it's in really good shape rust wise. The body is almost completely straight except for a round dent in the front left fender i can tap out.

UPDATE: I found some property near the car, might go tomorrow and talk to the people about it.

Remember that quote from like two days ago? well I talked to the folks who own the property and they will sell the car to me for $300! :DD

Will be my first mopar restoration :3

I'll try to get some pictures soon. So far, I have 80. Tomorrow, my mother will pay me back 50. 130, then my grandmother will pay me back 40 putting me at 170. Going to work with my gramps to try to earn the rest.

wait are you EazyE or something?

300 dollars is a really good price.

It would be really funny though if they don't actually own the car :P

300 for that is pretty damn good

300 far a car?
damn son, thats pretty good.

then you realize the money he's about to dump into it

don't try to go around corners fast in it

it will only end badly

Probably a couple thousand.

He's going to probably need to dump 10k depending on the state of the engine, lol.

I almost bought a motorcycle for $300 then I realized that the money I would need to repair it I could just buy a ready to ride motorcycle

you better make sure there's no frame rust.

This.  Also, how bad (or is it?) rusted through on the body panels?  If they're bad, the inside may be too.

It's on their property. Unless they're keeping it there for somebody (unlikely), it's legally their car.

what do you mean buy it
just borrow someone's car and hook it onto a rope
and drive away

thats right :)

yes

and hell, if stuff goes wrong, itll scrap metal for more than i bought it for lol

It's a pretty sweet deal, but things in bad condition usually come at a cheap price. If you really are up to restoring it, then I say why the hell not and go for it. If you can dedicate your time to it, then it's worth it. The car really does have a ton of potential.
