If you wait another 10 years, I grant you that over 75% of the blue states (Democratic majority) will legalize marijuana in some form - whether it be for medicinal use or strictly regulated recreational use. Without a doubt, the legalization of this drug would really bring in millions of revenues per year to a state and it would make the prison population decrease which would save taxpayers dollars. I really am a big supporter on the legalization of medical marijuana, but nothing more. I see disaster if we were to all legalize recreational marijuana in most jurisdictions.
ohio is massively conservative in its three c-city strongholds ( cleveland, columbus, cincinnati ) so it'd be a miracle if it passed.
Believe it or not, it's not as conservative as it used to be. Ohio is known for having real working class Americans, and while many of them are progressive conservatives - the bigger cities such as Columbus, Toledo, Akron, Cincinatti, and Cleveland have significant amounts of younger Democrats who are a bit more open on social issues. Not to mention, Obama who won Ohio in 2012 which definitely does say something about the political demographic of the state. I think there is a chance that Ohio may legalize it.
