2DS broke, did I just lose my eShop purchases and NNID?

My 2DS broke (controls and touch screen unresponsive) a couple of weeks ago, and I bought it to GameStop. In less then 5 minutes, they just threw it in their defective drawer and they replaced it with a new one. I did not realize that I lost so much data and I did not transfer the ID and purchases. Does this mean I lost everything, or will GameStop let me take the console back for a second and transfer my data back?

eh i believe the eShop saves your stuff on an online database

when i formatted my SD card for animal crossing it kept all my store purchases and stuff

your purchases should be saved to your nintendo store account

on the other hand, save data (unless it stored to your cartridge or DS) is gone
