Author Topic: Avatars larger than normal?  (Read 3207 times)

If you can fit this down into 75x75 without losing quality, I'll use it.
lol, no, I don't care if you get your avatar removed. that's your choice
I hope that if Badspot gets rid of this option, at least make it a checkable thing if you want to see big avatars or not.
it's not an "option," it's a bug

next time put a spoiler that it's gonna be a guy screaming for 1 hour ( albeit not very loudly )

You don't get it. Abusing the system just so that you can use an avatar which takes up 4x as much space as is allowed because you personally like it more is not acceptable, and you're going to be banned for it.

Thank you.

this

i'm not against the large avatars and think that if the forum were better formatted for them they'd look really nice; but fact is badspot didn't intend for them to be uploaded this way, and he's not going to put his time into making it a possibility when you guys basically just laughed in his face about how you worked around it. the thing that is likely the easiest for him is to remove the avatar rights of the people who changed it. if he's on his good side, he might restrict all uploaded .ico files to under 75x75 or remove .ico from being used entirely.

everyone participating in using the big avatars can have their fun now, but it's pretty much guaranteed they won't still have them, one way or another, by the next time badspot is online.

This entire avatar shebang is like rubbing your chopsticks together at a japanese restaurant. It basically tells the person running the restaurant that their chopsticks are cheap.

Why not just ban all avatar uploads which use the .ico format? And rremove the avatars of users who already have them?

he's most likely going to do that

If Badspot removes avatar rights for the people who are doing the huge avatar thing, I want Atomshock to be spared, he was the first to do it and he claims he did it unintentionally

I'm not sure about this version of SMF, but with PHPbb it's very easy to change the filetypes that can be uploaded and used as avatars
