It just means that you're predicting something is going to happen. I don't see why that's confusing. If you see a drama topic that's very poorly formed, you might say "inb4backfire" because you're predicting the thread will backfire. It's both a way of showing off your prediction skills and staking your claim so that you can say you were there when something happened.
